We are living in liminal space, collectively transitioning from the traumas of a pandemic, political turmoil, and institutional and structural violence. We can use writing to increase our connection to ourselves and others, as we do in our meditation practice.
We can write our way through and out the other side together. This class is for writers and non-writers, readers and procrastinators, those that meditate and those that don’t. We will use prompts and practices to build resiliency and deepen our writing craft.
In this 2.5 hour a week, 4-week writing workshop we will use prompts and practices that include contemporary Buddhist poets and philosophers, sutras and stories. We will write as a form of contemplative practice, and use somatic practices as prompts for our writing.
